WHERE WE ARE ...
We are based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city and economic hub. Our centre is located in Kigamboni, a developing district just across the harbor. While Kigamboni is known for its coastline and growing infrastructure, many areas still face poverty and limited access to essential services. Social challenges such as unemployment and lack of opportunities for young people make our community-driven initiatives even more important in supporting local families.
KCC OPERATES IN TWO LOCATIONS

KCC Community Centre
Located in Geza, Kigamboni serves our Community Centre as the main hub for our education programs for children and young adults. It is also home to our talent development program, which is primarily focused on young adults. The KCC Community Centre is an important part of our organization and an open space for education, creativity and community. Children, young people and adults all come together here every day to learn, exchange ideas and be active together. In the mornings, the centre offers day care for young children to play and learn in a safe environment. There are also various educational programs for children, young people and adults, including language courses such as German and English. In the afternoon, the Talent Development Program takes center stage. Young people have the opportunity to develop their skills in acrobatics, dance, music, theater or arts and crafts. This makes the centre a place where people can come together at any time - whether for fellowship, dance, sports or simply to spend time together. The KCC Community Centre is open to all and free of charge. It offers a space where everyone can develop individually and at the same time be part of a strong community.

KCC Children's Home
With our Children's Home in Kigamboni we provide a safe space for children in need. Alongside shelter and care, the children here also take part in education and talent development activities tailored specifically for them. The KCC Children's Home offers orphans and children in need a safe home with accommodation and meals. In addition to basic care, it is also a place of learning and community. The children can catch up on their schoolwork here and receive support with their education. The Talent Development Program also takes part at the Children's Home – both for the children in the home and for children and adults from the surrounding area. It offers the children and young adults the opportunity to explore and develop their talents in various creative fields. Activities include music, dance, drama, acrobatics, and arts, providing a space for self-expression and confidence-building. Through regular training and practice, the children and adults not only improve their skills but also gain a sense of achievement and belonging. Like at the Community Centre, these activities foster personal growth and strengthen the sense of community among participants. This community space is a shared space where ones can come together to learn, dance and eat. It is a place of connection, support and creative growth that fosters a sense of belonging and community
THE OLD KCC
In the summer of 2024, the KCC Community Centre moved to its current location after the old site had to be demolished. This transition was not only mandatory, but also an opportunity to expand and create better facilities for our programs. To avoid interrupting our activities, all programs were temporarily hosted at the KCC Children's Home. While the new centre is already in use, construction is still ongoing as we continue to develop and improve the space. Watch this short video to learn more about the building process.
